The new REL Planar 1 rethinks what a subwoofer can be. Designed as part of REL’s brand-new Planar Series, the Planar 1 moves bass away from the traditional large floor-standing cabinet and into a slim, wall-mountable design that integrates beautifully into modern living spaces.

At only 144mm deep, the Planar 1 can be wall-mounted like a piece of artwork, hidden behind furniture, or even positioned under a sofa while still delivering the fast, musical bass performance REL is known for. Rather than fighting against room boundaries, REL has engineered the Planar 1 specifically to work with wall reinforcement, using room placement as part of the acoustic design.

Inside, the Planar 1 uses twin 6.5-inch long-throw active drivers combined with a rear-mounted 10-inch passive radiator to produce surprisingly deep and controlled bass from an incredibly slim enclosure. The result is bass that remains agile, tuneful and highly integrated with both hi-fi and home cinema systems.

REL has also included AirShip wireless connectivity, allowing cleaner installations without long signal cables running across the room. The Planar 1 represents an entirely new category for REL — discreet, design-friendly bass reinforcement without sacrificing musicality or speed.
