Description
The Linn Kandid is a reference-quality moving-coil cartridge designed to extract an exceptional level of musical information from the record groove. Developed as the ideal partner for Linn’s Ekos SE tonearm, it combines a lightweight open construction with an advanced stylus, boron cantilever and extremely rigid three-point mounting system.
Kandid uses a nude line-contact diamond stylus mounted directly into a boron cantilever. The fine 3 × 70-micron stylus profile maintains close contact with the groove, retrieving subtle detail while tracking complex musical passages with accuracy and control.
Its open-body design removes unnecessary material from around the generator, reducing cartridge weight and helping prevent unwanted resonances. The aluminium chassis is manufactured from the same material as the Ekos SE headshell, creating a consistent mechanical path through which vibration can be directed away from the cartridge.
Linn’s three-point mounting system provides a particularly rigid and accurately aligned connection with a compatible Linn tonearm. Flying signal leads and gold-plated termination clips also reduce the number of connections between the cartridge generator and tonearm cable.
The result is a fast, transparent and highly revealing cartridge capable of reproducing music with exceptional timing, dynamics and emotional involvement.
