The Esoteric Grandioso S1X is a flagship Class A stereo power amplifier designed to combine exceptional transparency and fine detail with the scale, control and dynamic authority of Esoteric’s reference monoblock designs. Developed from the same engineering platform as the Grandioso M1X, it brings Esoteric’s most advanced amplifier technology to a more practical stereo configuration.
The S1X delivers 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms in Class A and 100 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with a maximum output of 200 watts per channel into 2 ohms. Its five-parallel push-pull output stage uses high-capacity bipolar transistors to provide the strong, responsive current delivery needed to control demanding loudspeakers.
A substantial toroidal transformer forms the foundation of its power supply, supported by independent transformers for the input and control stages. Six Grandioso-grade 10,000μF block capacitors are used for each channel, giving the amplifier the reserves required to reproduce large dynamic changes with composure, weight and precision.
Esoteric has worked extensively to reduce internal impedance throughout the S1X. Pure-copper busbars, thick internal wiring and carefully shortened signal paths help preserve musical energy, while fully balanced circuit blocks provide excellent noise rejection. The result is a spacious, highly detailed presentation that retains the natural texture and emotional power of the performance.
Balanced XLR, RCA and Esoteric’s proprietary ES-Link Analogue inputs provide flexible system integration. The S1X can also be used as part of an enhanced bi-amplified system with a second unit, allowing its performance and control to be taken even further.
