The Marantz CD-85 CD Player is a highly regarded vintage model combining substantial build quality with classic Marantz engineering. Its Philips CDM-1 Mk II transport and TDA1541A-S1 “Single Crown” digital-to-analogue converter make it particularly appealing to enthusiasts of classic digital audio.
Built around a rigid, heavyweight chassis, the CD-85 features 16-bit conversion with four-times oversampling. Alongside its analogue outputs, optical and coaxial digital connections allow it to be used with an external DAC. A variable headphone output adds further flexibility.
