‘I had to replace my existing Hi Fi which I had built up with separates bought from PJ Hi-Fi over the years. This was following a house fire which caused extensive smoke damage to our home, and led to virtually everything downstairs being written off.

Andy Holt was extremely helpful the whole way through the process, working out suggested replacement items and producing a letter for insurance purposes to support a settlement figure which I agreed with our insurer.

After our home was restored I then auditioned replacement separates. Andy was able to recommend alternatives, including different speakers to the B&W stand mounted speakers that I was originally looking to replace mine with. There was absolutely no sales pressure, and Andy let me take the time to make the right decisions, and helped me work to a budget.

I am absolutely delighted with my new Hi-Fi. The Dynaudio Emit M10 speakers combined with Naim Nait 5i Amp and Naim CD5si CD player are amazing. The Rega Planar 1 Turntable is a direct replacement for the previous one which was only 7 months old when the fire happened. The Quadraspire stand is great too. I upgraded the Naim supplied Din to Din interconnect between CD and Amp to a Chord Shawline which has proved to be an inspired recommendation from Andy.

I cannot recommend PJ Hi Fi enough. I have shopped here for over 25 years and am always delighted with their customer service, and excellent advice.’

Having loved my existing stereo for well over 25 years, I had been toying with getting something even more special to last me another 25. I stopped by all of the major high street venues, but the excitement factor just wasn’t there. I also surfed the internet. There were plenty of sources of inspiration to be found, but I still wanted to actually hear, touch and see the kit before making such a major purchase.

I’d walked by the PJ Hi-Fi shop front many times over the years. To be honest, it had always seemed a bit unassuming. I decided to pop my head in anyway during one of those recent days of rain and flooding. It felt like Aladdin’s cave! From there I knew I had found the right place. I never felt like I was being sold anything. It was all about best advice, my needs and budget. Andy and his Team spent a huge amount of time with me before I felt ready to make a decision. The in home installation service was equally attentive and fantastic. I doubt one of the high street chains would offer much more than holding a space outside their shop so you could throw the boxes in the back of your car.

I actually did have a connectivity issue at one point. I can assure you that PJ Hi-Fi’s dedication to a happy customer didn’t trail off once the cheque had cleared. For anyone interested in the kit itself, I went for a Naim SuperUniti Streamer, UnitiServe ripper and Audiovector Si3 speakers. They sound very sweet indeed, and no doubt will keep me very happy for years to come.

‘Dear Mark and Andy,

Just a quick thank you for all your advice and help in my buying the pair of NEAT Motive SX1.

I got them home on Saturday and tried several CD’s. The first track I played was Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty and instantly the hairs on my arms stood up because the sound coming out of those speakers is just phenomenal! I was hearing instruments and sounds that I have never heard on that track before.

When I first heard the speakers in your demo room a few weeks ago I knew they were special, but by goodness when I connected them up and started using them I knew they were exactly what I had been looking for. There is an old saying of you get what you pay for, and by golly it’s true with these speakers!
