For the next week we are excited to have the HiFi Rose RA280 amplifier on demonstration! With it’s striking appearance and natural sound this is one we would strongly recommend listening too.

Following on from the RA180, the RA280 continues the steampunk design in a less ornate approach. The feature set has been refined to a more practical selection compared to its predecessor, eliminating the multiple speaker terminals, moving coil phono compatibility, and the assortment of dials, knobs, switches, and sliders on the front panel.

However, the new stereo amplifier retains a sleek, minimalist design with essential controls for volume, input selection, bass, and treble tonal adjustments, as well as two illuminated VU meters.

Similar to its flagship counterpart, the RA280 incorporates HiFi Rose’s proprietary Class AD amplification technology. This technology merges the benefits of a standard Class D design—high efficiency and greater output—with the natural sound quality characteristic of traditional Class AB designs. The brand highlights its use of advanced materials, such as Gallium Nitride FETs instead of conventional silicon field-effect transistors, to create a precise amplification stage that delivers a sound more akin to a “pure analogue” amplifier.
